You might be asking yourself, “Why would I need Fizzy Mizzy® when I already have Little Henry®?” Little Henry® Virginia sweetspire (Itea virginica ‘Sprich’, Zones 5–9) is an excellent compact shrub, but if you are in the market for another, Fizzy Mizzy® is about the same size, only with a tighter and more upright form. That means the fragrant, creamy white flowers that appear in early summer are less floppy than those of other sweetspires. This compact native selection also makes pollinators happy and is rarely troubled by deer. It is adaptable to various light conditions and has no problem with wet and shady locations.
